Grilled Steak

Serves 2 each

Ingredients

1 stick MagicMix

1 steak (hanger, skirt or flatiron) 8 ounces, trimmed

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

½ cup unsalted butter, melted and mixed with MagicMix

1 teaspoon garlic, minced

Coarse sea salt – to taste

Chopped flat-leaf parsley for garnish

Grilled Steak

Directions

  1. Build a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill, or heat a gas grill to high.
  2. Rub steak piece generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat until foamy. Turn off the stove and skim the foam with a spoon.
  4. Add garlic and MagicMix to clarified butter and smear about 2 teaspoons on the meat.
  5. Grill steak, turning only once, until cooked to desired doneness, about 5 minutes per side for medium-rare. Baste with spiced butter several times.
  6. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let rest for 10 minutes
  7. Slice steak thinly against the grain. Arrange on plates, spooning garlic butter over the steak. Season with sea salt and garnish with parsley.
